Courses and ProgramsMaster of Science in Project ManagementProject Management has grown significantly over the last twenty years as indicated by the Project Management Institute (PMI), which has nearly 250,000 members. Only a handful of public universities have reacted to the demand for professional project managers with advanced degrees. The Missouri State University M.S. in Project Management is one such program built around the widely recognized Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Admission InformationTo apply for the Masters in Project Management (MPM) proceed to the admission section of the Graduate College homepage. Typically, within six weeks of receiving your complete application, you should receive an indication of your admission status. Once admitted, the Project Management Program Coordinator, Dr. Neal Callahan, will become your temporary advisor. He will assist you in choosing courses and developing a preliminary program of study. At a later date, when you get to know the Project Management Faculty, you may choose a permanent advisor. Course RequirementsTotal credits required for graduation: 33-36 Major requirements (18 hrs) Cognate Area (9 hrs approved elective credit) Research (6-9 hrs) Course FormatIn part, due to the wide range of students interested in project management, the online format has been chosen as the one means of delivery for the Project Management Master’s Degree. Students may take the 18 hours of major requirements online.
