Computer Information Systems

CIS 661, 3 hrs
Management Information Systems
Prerequisite: CIS 429 or CIS 500 or equivalent
This course is a core requirement for the Master of Science in Administrative Studies. A macro application to the concept, design and implementation of management information systems. This course is designed to be useful to MBA students interested in management information systems development as well as those who plan to be involved in managing MIS projects. Course fee for internet-based sections.

Dr. Sheryl Brahnam is Assistant Professor in the CIS department at Missouri State University. Dr. Brahnam has a Ph.D. in computer science (2002) from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, a Masters of Science in computer science (1997) and a Master of Fine Arts (1991) in multimedia from The City College of New York, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and philosophy from the University of Arkansas. She has taught numerous classes at Missouri State University, Baruch College, Hunter College, Yeshiva University, and The City College of New York. At Missouri State University her primary research interests are user modeling, virtual humans and social agents, smart embodiment, medical applications of face recognition technologies, and gender studies as they relate to computer information systems.
