Communication, Community and Conflict
This is a Master of Science in Administrative Studies
Applied Communication option area course. This course equips students
to understand the dynamics of interpersonal conflict in organizational
settings. Students will learn to analyze their own conflict styles and
to develop self-regulation strategies for collaborative outcomes in organizational
conflicts. Students will also learn how to serve as a third-party mediator,
to assist others in resolving conflicts. The class will also cover competitive
and cooperative approaches to negotiation.

Instructor: Heather Blades
Heather Blades completed her B.S. in Sociology and her M.A. in Professional Writing at Missouri State University. She has taught per course for the English department for two years and currently works full time as the Senior Editor for Management Executives, Inc. She edits two peer-reviewed publications (The Forensic Examiner and Annals of the American Psychotherapy Association) as well as numerous other business publications, books, and websites. |
