Instructor: Dr. Marci Dowdy
I recently retired from Springfield Public Schools after 18 years where I served as parent educator, elementary counselor, middle school counselor, high school counselor, Coordinator of Counseling, and Instructional Specialist for School Improvement. I am presently a full-time instructor at Missouri State University in the Department of Counseling, Leadership, and Special Education. I have been teaching adjunct in this department for the last 10 years. I am active in the Missouri School Counselor Association where I serve on the governing board as New Counselor Mentor Chairperson for Missouri. I also serve on the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Curriculum Writing Team for counseling curriculum in Missouri.
I am married and have one daughter who is employed as a C.P.A. in Springfield, Missouri. I also have a cat named Ralph who rules my home.
I look forward to working with you in this course which is designed to provide students with an introduction of what it means to have fully implemented guidance program in the schools. I look forward to your active participation in the course. |
