Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion Program
Missouri State University offers a BSN-Completion program which allows students who have completed a 2-year Associates of Science in Nursing (ASN) program and have their RN License to complete their BSN degree. The Graduate Certificate in Orientation and Mobility is available to non-degree seeking individuals or as a component of the Masters degree is Special Education, Visual Impairment emphasis. The Orientation and Mobility certificate is designed to meet regional needs and is aligned to the standards set by the Association of Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) and Academy of Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP). Small cohorts of individuals who desire to pursue certification in Orientation and Mobility will be identified based upon geographic need and individual qualifications.

Missouri Visual Impairment Certification
In response to the state-wide shortage of teachers trained to work with Visually Impaired students, Missouri State University has developed a state-wide alternative Visually Impaired Certification Program (VIP) which allows both currently certified teachers and candidates with a bachelor's degree but no certification to earn their initial certificate in Visually Impaired (Blind and Partially Sighted) Birth - Grade 12. This program has received full accreditation from the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER), the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
