Organizational Management
Prerequisite: EAD 651
Emphasis is on basic administrative skills including fiscal management and building utilization as well as the skills and processes needed to collaboratively develop and maintain strategic plans.

Dr. Sandra WegnerInstructor: Dr. Sandra Wegner

Dr. Wegner is a Professor in the Department of Educational Administration and has earned her doctoral degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She received her degree in School Administration with an additional emphasis in Curriculum.

Dr. Wegner has had the opportunity to serve in various capacities throughout her career. Included in those capacities were Chemistry Teacher, Principal at all levels (Elementary, Middle and High School) along with the Central Office Superintendent. In her career here at Missouri State University, she has been a Department Head, Director of Accreditation for Professional Education Programs, Associate Dean for the College of Education, and now a Professor in her department. Her primary research interests include the role of technology in educational delivery systems, use of adjunct professors in professional roles, after school programming utilizing community agencies, curriculum, personnel management, and numerous other topics selected by the students that she supervises in the field of educational administration. Dr. Wegner is widely published in her discipline on these particular issues.

Dr. Wegner has been elected to numerous international, national and state positions with Educational organizations. Her last elected office (2003) was on the Executive Council for the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). In this role she was directly involved with the operations of the largest educational organization in the world with over 200,000 members. She has traveled, consulted and presented in the countries of New Zealand, Israel, Germany, Canada, St. Maartin and Trinidad and Tobago. She has been a consultant with her husband, Dr. Scott Wegner, in over 200 schools within the state of Missouri assisting teachers to write curriculum, authentic assessment, supervision and instruction. She serves as an evaluator for NCATE in the area of school leadership as well as an evaluator for the State School Leaders Licensure Exams (SLLA) for ETS. Dr. Wegner teaches a variety of courses including: School Personnel, Advanced Curriculum and Design and Organizational Management.
