Linda Trinh Moser is Associate Professor of English who has taught at Missouri State University since 1997. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam, raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and has lived in Japan and France.
Her research and teaching are linked by a strong desire to introduce a culturally diverse content and perspective. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis, writing her dissertation
on Sui Sin Far and Onoto Watanna, the first fiction writers of Asian ancestry to be published in the United States. Her subsequent research and writing has also focused on Asian American writers,
most notably a reissue of Watanna's autobiographical novel, Me: A Book of Remembrance (1915; 1997) and, more recently, a collection of Watanna's short works, “A Half-Caste” and
Other Writings (2002). While her writing focuses on Asian (North) American writers, her teaching responsibilities encompass a broader range of literature and cultures. In courses such as English
287 (Life Stages in Literature), English 380 (Introduction to Women's Literature) and English 362 (Non-European World Literature), she and her students explore ethnic American writers in addition
to works from other countries.
