Instructional Media Technology

IMT 562 899, 3 hrs
Educational Applications of Computers for Teaching

Using microcomputers in educational settings. Includes the investigation of computer terminology software in word processing, data base, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, record management and multimedia applications. Special emphasis will be given to selection of appropriate programs for specific instructional activities as well as computer interfaced peripheral devices. The use of technological approaches for teaching and learning process that will help students become more effective and efficient in their instructional responsibilities with diverse students.

Dr. Ching-Wen ChangInstructor: Ching-Wen Chang

Dr. Ching-Wen Chang is an Assistant Professor of Instructional Media Technology at Missouri State University. Dr. Chang received her Master of Science in Education in Secondary Education (English Education) from State University of New York (SUNY) Binghamton, and her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction and Media Technology from Indiana State University in 2006, with a specialization in Educational Technology.

Dr. Chang's dissertation topic and research agenda deals with interaction among college students in a web-based environment and She has taught in both traditional and web-based classroom environments as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Indiana State, and was one of only two people chosen nation-wide as a Summer Scholar for the Central Missouri State University Summer Scholar Program in 2004. Dr. Chang has presented at several conferences around the country, and has a publication submission in progress.
