Legal Aspects in Sports, Physical Education, and Wellness Programs
This course is a core requirement for the Master of
Science in Administrative Studies - Sports Management Certification. The legal aspects in sports, physical education, recreation and wellness programs as related to personnel, facilities, participants,
spectators and contracts. Includes a review of legal concepts, necessary for in-depth study of the law, as it relates to sports, or other programmed activities.

Gerald Masterson, Ph.D., is a professor in the Health, Physical
Education, and Recreation Department at Missouri State University. He heads and teaches in the newly developed Sports Management
Certificate Program. His research interest have included anaerobic
power performance and training adolescents. He has published that
work in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. He also
sponsors a track and field coaches’ clinic, runs a track and
cross-country camp, in order to decimate information and collect
data.
