June Brown is a Professor Emeritus of reading at Missouri State University in Springfield. Prior to that, she taught elementary children for fourteen years and explored ways to integrate technology into elementary classrooms with only 4 computers.

Her interests are improving reading instruction for pre-service and in-service teachers. In recent years she has concentrated her study on the integration of technology into reading instruction. She participated in a federal grant, Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology (PT3), and developed on line materials for her reading courses. During her last sabbatical, she reviewed online resources for undergraduate and graduate reading courses.

Her technology articles have been published in The Missouri Reader as well as the Journal of Reading Education. She has also published in The Reading Professor and the Michigan Reading Journal . She holds a doctorate in elementary education and reading from the University of Arkansas.
