SPE 507 899, 3 hrs
Structure and Function of the Eye
Prerequisite: SPE 345 and SPE 346, or SPE 682, or departmental permission.
This course will provide prospective teachers and paraprofessionals who plan to work with children and youth who are low vision and blind with a fundamental understanding of the structure
and anatomy of the eye. The course will address a full array of eye diseases and conditions and the educational implications.

Instructor: Julie Anderson-Ituarte
Mrs. Julie Ituarte holds a Masters Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Visual Impairment and Orientation and Mobility from the University of Arizona. Mrs. Ituarte developed on-line courses in Visual Impairment and will continue to implement courses in the VI program. Mrs. Ituarte has provided VI/O&M services in AZ, MO, and at Helen Keller National Center in NY. |
