This hands-on workshop will introduce faculty to the fundamental tools and features found in Blackboard. It will cover the primary steps and activities required to use Blackboard to create an effective online course as well as web-enable your classroom instruction. Topics discussed will be adding content, announcements and email communications, and an introduction to the Discussion Board. |

Blackboard 8.0 Grade Center
This hands-on workshop will introduce faculty to the Blackboard 8.0 Grade Center. Topics included will be managing the Grade Center (how to create/hide/remove and rearrange assignment columns), managing assignments and adding comments, using running totals, weighting grades, how to manage items such as extra credit and attendance scores, and backing-up the Grade Center. This session will also include an overview of the Performance Dashboard and monitoring student performance. |

Creating Exams and Assessments in Blackboard > Register Now This hands-on workshop introduces faculty to creating quizzes, exams, and surveys in Blackboard. Topics covered will include the different question types and assessment strategies in Blackboard. Using the Test Manager to creating exams and test pools, importing a test pool using the Pool Manager, and deploying a test. Third-party software and other resources to assist with online assessments will also be discussed. Class size is limited to 12. |

Blackboard Communication Tools > Register Now This hands-on workshop will introduce faculty to synchronous and asynchronous communication tools designed to enhance student interaction in an online course. An overview of the Whiteboard and Chat feature will be provided as well as advanced Discussion Board, and using Wikis, Blogs, and Podcasts. Different instructional strategies and when you might use each of these tools will also be discussed. A brief overview of Adobe Connect and other web-conference tools will also be provided. Class size is limited to 12. |
