Welcome to the Developing Sport Team Leader’s Course.

My name is Tom Kane, and I will be your instructor.

This course was made possible because of a partnership developed between Missouri State University and the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Together, SMS and the NWCA are working hard to bring best leadership practices to coaches nationwide.

If you have not already done so, please go to the discussion board and answer the questions entitled “Pre-Workshop Questions.”

I have conducted workshops with coaches and student athletes around the country, and design my courses so that coaches don’t only learn from best practices in the field, but also learn from each other. Usually that occurs in an interactive classroom setting, however, because this is an internet-based-course, you will be using the “discussion board” to share your experiences and ideas with other coaches and also learn about theirs.
