Course Development

Individual Meeting with Instructional Designer
The course development process starts with a meeting with instructional designers in the Distance Learning office. Discussions on the specifics of the course include course design and structure, assessment plan, communication strategies, course delivery system, development of supplemental course materials, and course management strategies.

Online Course Development Process Guide
There are three stages of the online course development process. The Distance Learning staff assists faculty members with all stages of course development.

Multimedia Supplemental Materials
Distance Learning will assist instructors in developing multimedia (audio/video, Flash) materials to be used for an online course. However, due to limited resources, Distance Learning asks that instructors start planning and discussing the need for multimedia components as early as possible.

Web Accessibility
All online courses are required to be ADA compliant. Distance Learning staff will work with instructors to make sure the online course sites are accessible to all users.
