CIS 500: Information Systems in Business Organizations Hi, this is CIS 500 Management Information Systems, and my name is Chris Griesemer. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have a beautiful family, two incredible kids named Michele and Lacey, a beautiful wife named Tina. Some of my favorite things to do are playing Sony PlayStation 2. I absolutely love that game. I love playing Gran Turismo 2 with my son. I love watching movies. Those are two of my favorite things to do in the whole wide world. I like mess around with computers, but I'm a geek and I guess that's what I do because I'm a computer guy. Like I said when I introduced myself, my name is Chris Griesemer. I'm not Dr. Griesemer. I do not have my Ph.D. I know you're thinking great, we've got some goof ball teaching the class. Well, I'm a goof ball, but a goof ball that has about 10 years of experience in management information systems, that's MIS. We'll learn that throughout the semester. I've set two of them up and I currently work in an accounting firm as the network administrator/consultant. So, what can you expect from this class? Well, you can expect to take some of the things that I do on an everyday bases, and we're going to transform those things into the class. And I'm going to give you tools such as groupware that's going to help you communicate better with your peers to perform and accomplish the group projects that I give to you. Remember that in a work force environment, your co-worker might not be down the hall from you. They maybe four hundred or five hundred or thousand miles away. These software tools are going to help you communicate better with your peers. And you're going to have to know that in this new information society that we live in now. I really look forward to getting on with the new semester. It's going to be a lot of fun and I really thin you're going to enjoy it and let's get started. I'll see you. |
