CSC 101: Computers for Learning Hello and welcome to Computers for Learning online class. My name is Mike Scroggins and I will be your instructor. If you’ve never taken an online class I think you’ll find this to be a very unique educational experience. Because the class is taught online, to be successful you are going to shoulder a lot of the responsibility. It’s very easy just to put things off when no one is looking over your shoulder. Good time management and good self-motivation skills will be your key to being successful. This class will basically be comprised of two parts, one part will be basic computer literature, basic computer terminology. And for that part we’ll be looking at the Capron book. The other part of this class will be very hands-on, application orientated. For that part of the class, we’ll be looking at Microsoft Office XP and also Windows XP. I want to make sure also that you’re aware that even though this class is online, that if you need additional help, please feel free to come by my office here at SMS. My office is in Cheek Hall 28M.
